Just curious who everyone enjoys watching. I'm sure I'll be reading a lot about Daigo and RX My personal favorites are KO, Nuki, and Deshiken. I have just learned so much from KO and Deshiken, and they are always innovating and entertaining. KO can pick any character and show me something I've never seen before. I'm always impressed. Deshiken is so sick with Ken!! Impossible not to improve your game by watching him. I'm also a HUGE Nuki fan. He is probably the most solid and consistant player I have watched. Chun is not even my character, but I am captivated when Nuki is playing. I think his skill is hugely underrated in the majority of the American scene b/c of the character he plays.

man, me too, Nuki's a great player, his style is very well balanced and he's always fun to watch, Nuki rocks.
I'm a big fan of Roshihikari, KSK, Kuroda and Sugiyama.

My favourite player by far is Harmonaz from UK, he may not be the best Akuma on the planet but he knows the game, he's a fast thinker and he's extremely entertaining to watch in terms of gameplay. Pretty modest and nice guy too, that's sort of rare among non-Japanese players.
From Japan I like Kuroda (Q), Jiro (Akuma), Hayao (Hugo) and Kokujin (Dudley). Hayao is hilarious to watch because people normally exhibit fear when facing him.

*Resists the temptation to turn this into a Nuki love thread* I'm also a fan of most of the players you mentioned. I really enjoy Roshi's SA3 Yang. I like to play SA3 as well, so his vids help me get better. He was playing OUT OF HIS MIND at SBO this year. KSK is fun to watch, and Sugiyama= the best Necro I've ever seen. Haven't seen much Kuroda. Are you a Q player Tokaro? BTW Sneaks, it's a shame to hear that so many Japanese players are full of themselves. (I think this is true of the American scene as well, tho) Then again, I think that they are like celebrities in a way, w/ the ranbat vids and SBO and all. So, maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but I just didn't wanna see it.

no no, I said non-japanese players tend to have big egos. Japanese players, while they are far and beyond better than American players, seem very modest of their skills... more sportsmanlike if you will. In North America, that's not so much the case.

OH...now I feel like an ass. It all makes sense w/ a re-read What you are saying meshes with what I thought the Japanese mentality would be. Good to know they are down to earth dudes. Staying on topic...I have really started to appreciate Nitto's matches lately. In the begining I was turned off by "another Yun," but he is quite skilled. My newest crush (for lack of a better term) is w/ Shirotachi's Makoto. I saw some stuff of his earlier this year, and then again just before SBO. I was floored. He was doing stuff I had never seen before. Until then I couldn't really point to a Japanese Makoto that I enjoyed watching very much. I know J was thought of as a great Mak player but he retired right? Can't find much of his stuff...he didn't compete @ GVision at any point did he?

Definitely RX, one of the few Japanese players keepin it real and not selling out and switching to other characters, i.e. Tokido -> Chun, Pierre -> Yang, etc.

Haven't seen you around for a while. Good to hear from you. Question tho: how is switching characters (especially from a mid tier to a mid tier like Pierre) selling out? I mean Pierre had essentially mastered Urien. He's the best UR player besides RX that I've seen. Who did Tokido used to play? I've only seen his Chun.

Glad to be here. It's selling out because most Urien players are one with their character, as silly as that sounds. At least that's how it is in America. You'll never see Rockefeller, Emphy or Jason Cole using anybody but Urien when it counts because I think Urien players have a certain loyalty to the character because of the time it took to be good with him. And unless you're placing higher than RX, there's still room for improvement. Tokido used to play Urien and used him one game against Nuki at Evo this weekend. Everybody cheered because it looks like Urien is a fan favorite.
