We're trying out a new section here at Denjin Video called video of the day. We're going to feature a new video here (hopefully) every day that you may not have seen and then chat a little bit about it. Today's video is from C-Royd from way back in 2004. I've never seen it before and maybe you guys haven't either. Either way, there are some really interesting things in it.
Notes:
0:33 - Showcases the breathing aspect of 3s which makes a lot of the moves in the game unreliable against crouching characters. I'd venture to say a lot of players aren't aware of it, but it's very important and this video showcases it perfectly. If you found a way to consistently be counting your opponent's breaths in the game, you might be able to discover some unexpected hits.
0:57 - Necro's lariat, followed by command grab against Hugo
1:00 - Q and Ryu resets which also apply to a lot of characters. You don't really see these a lot nowadays, so it'd be easy to catch someone off guard with some of them.
1:35 - Ridiculous Urien unblockable set up on Dudley. Might be easier for some than doing his dash tackle unblockable. Also showcases another unblockable setup you don't see every day.
2:27 - Yang SAII reset off of standing MK
3:23 - Chun Li's EX Spinning Bird Kick doesn't knock down Hugo in that situation
